Its the last year. We've almost done it. Hard to believe, but so thankful for these trips and the memories made.
Day 1 was all travel. Its a really long way between Garden Valley, CA to Hartford, CT. Of all the trips we've made this one was overly troublesome, go figure. Becca woke up on Thursday morning with a stomach ache which quickly turned into much more. By the bus ride at the airport she was almost yakking into moms knitting bag. She spent a good amount of time in the airport bathroom very green. She does not, by the way, recommend public restrooms where it "smells like 5000 peoples asses" to yak in. Me, trying to be helpful and hide the noises, flushed the to toilet which promptly sprayed in her face. Fun times. We were prepared for a miserable ride, but thankfully it was mostly uneventful. Bumpy, which we both love, but we made it.
Connecticut greeted us with grey skies and rain, AMAZING! We got a fancy pancy car and headed Southwest toward Yonkers, NY. We were all shocked at how beautiful the drive into this city is from the north. Trees, trees, trees everywhere and GREEN! There are a few trees peaking out that are turning colors. Hoping to see more as we go north.
Today, day 2, the Clampetts do NYC!!!
